About Me

Hi, I’m LaNora Tolman—founder of The Shepherd’s Couch. I offer a space where you can discover your identity and gain confidence in the person God has created you to be.

I believe God is deeply interpersonal, not retributive, always drawing us into connection rather than fear. That conviction shapes the way I walk alongside others, with gentleness, listening, and God’s grace.

I hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Clinical Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary, a faith-based institution. I continue to pursue ongoing education in theology, identity formation, and pastoral care to deepen and enrich my work. My training is grounded in a faith-based approach that focuses on temperament and spiritual care. As a certified temperament pastor, I help individuals discover how they’re uniquely wired for their God-given purpose. My approach is compassionate, Christ-centered, and centered on the belief that true transformation occurs in relationships —relationships with God and others, not just through information.

Outside of consulting and teaching, I’m a lifelong learner continuing my education, a happy wife, and a grandma who values deep conversations and connections. I created The Shepherd’s Couch as a safe place where you can discover your identity, understand how God uniquely designed you, and learn how to walk in that identity with clarity and peace.

I am not a licensed therapist, and I will refer individuals to the appropriate professional if mental health issues are a concern. I am a spiritual consultant who loves Jesus and desires for all to know who they are and how He created them.
